We look forward to meeting you and finding out what we can do for you.
BANX – Mike Banks
Artist

I’m a Queensland artist. I started out in hospitality, followed by cabinet-making in London, then carpentry, signage designing and children’s book illustrating in New Zealand.
My first love is detailed drawing and sketching

I was encouraged to paint by my dear Aunt in UK, who lent me her paints to practice with. I have been painting professionally since 2004, and work in Acrylic. My work covers both abstract and traditional scenes. In 2005, my partner and I published ‘Meg A. Feather and the Forest Games‘, an illustrated children’s book about a young Kiwi chick.
In 2013, I joined a small group of artists in outback Ruby Gap in the MacDonnall Ranges, to paint the strong orange/red earth against the spectacular blue sky, and rusty cars. I’m inspired by the vivid colours of the outback Australian landscape, hinterland and the coastal regions of the Sunshine Coast and Moffat Beach.

I now live and paint full time at Moffat Beach.
